Colne’s six-week resident consultation on our proposed merger with Greenfields Community Housing has come to a close.
All Greenfields and Colne residents were sent an information booklet on February 10 2020. It said, if the merger goeas ahead, residents would benefit from:
Modern services: We want to develop further the services we offer to you to ensure you receive the support you need, how and when you need it.
Having your say: We would be able to do even more to enable residents to have a powerful voice. This is because the proposed new organisation would be a Community Gateway which gives all residents the opportunity to become shareholders and influence decision-making. Residents would have the opportunity to learn the skills which support them to get involved.
Home improvements: We would continue investing in your homes, spending £125 million over five years, to help you remain safe, comfortable and independent.
More affordable homes built.
We have received more than 50 responses from our tenants and leaseholders. Reponses were collected face to face, at consultation events, via email, post and social media.
Everyone who took part in the consultation and expressed a desire in receiving an update afterwards has been contacted by email, phone call or letter.
Residents who responded wanted to know that the merger would not have an adverse effect on elderly and vulnerable people, service standards, rent or their homes. Leaseholders in our Housing for Older People wanted clarification that their existing agreement and services would continue.
We would like to say a huge thank you to those of you who took the time out have your say.
Your feedback will be sent to both Boards so they can review it before they make a decision on whether the merger should go ahead. We hope to update you further in the coming weeks.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact.
Thank you and keep safe.
