Staff at Colne Housing, the Essex-based housing association, are celebrating receiving the Investors in People (IIP) Silver Accreditation.
The award recognised how Colne’s leaders support their people through change and continue to engage with them throughout their modernisation journey.
The IIP accreditation focuses on an organisation’s performance in three key areas - leading, supporting, and improving.
The award comes three years after Colne launched a new vision to do more to provide good homes and services to people in housing need in the East of England.
Employees from the 50-strong workforce, based at the Knowledge Gateway, Essex University in Colchester, held a celebration with their Chief Executive Sara Thakkar. They said they felt empowered to do the best they can for their residents.
Sara Thakkar said: “I am incredibly proud of our people, they are Colne.
“This award is formal recognition that we are getting things right – leading effectively through change, building resilient teams, inspiring our staff to play a meaningful role in delivering our vision and supporting them to be the best they can be. That in turn means we are doing the best we can for our customers.”
The Investors in People report says: “Colne demonstrates all of the areas of the Investors in People framework in deep and meaningful ways.
“A silver accreditation demonstrates the extent of investment so far in getting the basics right and in doing so demonstrating the positive culture Colne wishes to promote.”
Colne is a 3,000-home housing association which provides a range of housing solutions in Essex and Suffolk to enable independent living.
