Business Strategy

Colne is building on its strong foundations to enable it to to enable independent living. The Board and Chief Executive have launched a new business strategy Enabling Independent Living which will see it as a top player in the East Region over the coming years.

At Colne we very much celebrate our long history. We are proud of all people that have come through our doors to not only create that history and shape who we are today, but critically, the people who remind us why we are here; those that have had their lives changed for the better in the 42 years of Colne’s existence.

Over the last few years we’ve worked hard to ensure we could build on the strong foundations created in the past to enable us to face a new decade; bigger, better and bolder. We are proud to launch a new vision, mission and a set of values - we will stand up and be counted on how we do business more than what business we do.

Achieving our growth target will depend on continuing to grow our reputation and positive relationships now and in the future. Despite the significant economic challenges we are committed to providing a wide range of homes and services that reflect the diverse needs of those living and working in the East of England.

At Colne there’s a lot to be confident about. We face the future with optimism, focus and a shared sense of purpose.

Our Key Targets

Board report and financial accounts

Colne enjoyed another successful year in 2014/15. The surplus for the year was £3.7 million and total reserves now stand at £39 million.

The year saw us build a total of 145 new homes, replace 114 inefficient boilers and provide 75 new bathrooms.

We also continued to invest heavily in improving existing properties in order to ensure our residents enjoy good quality homes, and to protect our income stream. During the year, £1 million was spent on major improvements to properties. This work including kitchen, door and window replacements.
