Safer Communities

The aim of the Colchester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CCDRP) is to protect the public and maintain a balance between the rights and responsibilities of individuals, families and communities.

Colne is an active partner of the local Crime and Disorder Partnership Groups in its three main areas of operation, Colchester, Maldon and Tendring. We have been involved in supporting initiatives such as data sharing agreements, and the United Solutions approach to solving problems of crime and anti-social behaviour being pioneered by CCDRP.

For a number of years now we have made sure that all our new developments meet 'Secure by Design' standards, an award given by the police to recognise the positive way in which developments try to reduce the risk of crime through good architectural design.
