Our Community Projects

Colne leads or actively contributes to many projects which help improve the wider communities in which we work.

Some of these projects include:

We aim to be a key player in addressing some of the social issues which affect our residents and their neighbourhoods and try and involve our residents in the process as much as possible.

Colne Fun Day

On April 4, 2008, Colne is held its second annual Fun Day in conjunction with Colchester United Sports Trust. Residents and friends, aged 7 to 14, were invited to take part in playing netball, tennis, cricket, football and other games.

We are currently planning our next event, so if you would be interesting in attending, please contact our Customer Services Team on 01206 244700 or e-mail info@colnehousing.co.uk.

Colne’s 35th Anniversary

This year the Society is celebrating its 35th anniversary and to mark the occasion we will be holding various events to raise money for Brain Tumour UK in support of our Housing Officer, Lesley Glover, in memory of her daughter Hollie Bell who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in June 2007.  Hollie underwent an operation to remove part of the tumour, and then had extensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but sadly passed away at the young age of 23 on 5th June 2008.

Brain Tumour UK was founded in 1997, and is dedicated to improving life for adults and children affected by brain tumours, and to establishing the causes of and finding a cure for the disease.  It funds a programme of research, support, education and awareness.

For more information please visit the Brain Tumour UK website or if you would like to make a donation you can do this through Justgiving.

A full list of events will be available on our web site shortly.
