Colne Community Fund
The Colne Community Fund allocates donated funds to specific projects that help the local community.
Colne uses a proportion of the money it receives from Iceni Homes to support residents and the communities they live in. £27K is being spent in 2008 for community development projects as follows:
- £5,000 will be allocated to a 'small projects fund' where organisations can apply for grants up to £500.
- £10,000 is to be allocated for community centre development. Community centres will be approached within Colchester, Tendring and Maldon and given the opportunity to bid for a £10,000 grant to fund a local project.
- Sponsoring of training will be investigated, targeting current training providers for the disabled.
Plus, opportunities will be explored with other service providers to provide joint funding to address anti-social behaviour issues at at various developments.
