Joining us as a Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for asset quality and will act as the primary point of contact for Colne on matters related to the assets in your area, providing expertise and advice to manage technical issue and forward plan to maintain asset quality.

Completing property inspections including the identification and categorisation of building condition and defects and the specification of reactive and planned remedial work while exercising technical due diligence, you will carry out pre-acquisition, stock condition and asset appraisal surveys; raising orders, preparing estimates and specifications and supervising contractors.

Managing and progressing insurance claims, you must carry out inspections and investigations in relation to any insurance claims made by or against Colne, ensure responsive maintenance work is recorded in the appropriate format and manage recommendations following risk assessments, legionella inspections, asbestos reports etc.

To be successful in this role, candidates for this role must hold a minimum of HNC/HND level Building Surveying or Building Studies / Construction (or equivalent) and CIOB/RICS memberships (or be working towards this). With robust surveying experience across a broad spectrum of surveying work, you should have a high attention to detail and be prepared to undertake appropriate training / qualifications in Asbestos Inspection/DDA Auditing/ Fire Risk Assessment/Party Wall work as required.

Due to the nature of the role, a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
