About Service Charges
Rent is due each Monday, in advance, although you can pay monthly in advance. You may pay a service charge as well as your rent. The service charge pays for items such as:
- maintenance of shared areas such as gardens or landscaping, stairwells and hallways (in flats)
- caretakers and Retirement Scheme Officers (where this applies)
Your service charge will be shown separately from your rent on your Tenancy Agreement and will show which services you are paying for. The Society will tell you who is carrying out this work and what they will do under the terms of their contract.
