Choice based lettings

Colne is a member of Gateway to Homechoice, a choice based lettings scheme and a partnership between local authorities in the East of England and local housing associations. It has been designed to make the allocation of social housing more transparent and offer customers more choice.

Applicants can ‘bid’ for suitable properties when they are advertised, giving more choice over where they live. Properties are offered to those from the list of bidders who have the highest housing need.
