Extra care housing, also known as very sheltered housing, provides varying levels of care and support on site to assist older people as they become increasingly frail.

We currently have one 16 flat scheme at Ironside Walk, Manningtree. In order to be considered for one of these flats you must be over 60 years of age and require at least 4 hours personal care per week to help you live independently. We work with Essex Social Services at this scheme. They carry out care assessments for all applicants and provide carers who work on site.

There is also an Essex County Council run Day Centre for older people in the same development. Referrals to the Day Centre are managed by Essex County Council.
