Colne Community Fund launched to help neighbourhoods

21st July 2008

A £28k Community fund has been launched by leading Essex housing Association, Colne Housing, to help fund projects and organisations that will benefit their local areas.

Money has been put aside for organisations to apply for up to £500 each for special events, projects or schemes where people in the community will see and experience a direct benefit.

There is a further special one off grant of £10k specifically for community centres in the Colchester, Maldon and Tendring districts.

Housing Director for Colne, Martin Buddery, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to apply for money that will really make a difference to them and their local community. We are inviting people to apply to the Colne Community Fund.

Guidelines and application forms are available on our website or by e-mailing the Society. A special panel has been set up to assess each application and decisions will be based on the sustainability of the scheme and the direct impact on local residents.”

The panel will be made up of Colne residents, board members and staff, who will assess each application against strict criteria.

Go to our community projects page for further information and an application form.
