New affordable homes for Braintree

12 June 2012

Twelve families in Braintree have started making themselves at home as Colne Housing Society hands over its new affordable houses on the Mill Park Drive development.

The new properties, comprising of nine x 2 bedroom houses and three x 3 bedroom houses, have given local families the opportunity to secure a new home at a social rent that is well below the market average.

Residents Mr Carl Jordan and Miss Lucy Pritchard were welcomed to their new homes by Chairman of Braintree District Council Councillor Lynette Bowers-Flint. Councillor Bowers-Flint commented “It gives me great pleasure to be handing keys over to Carl & Lucy who are local people and are now able to live locally in housing provided by Colne Housing Society. It is always good to have more affordable homes in Braintree District.

Bill Frame, Chairman of Colne Housing Society, said “We are delighted that we have been able to provide Braintree with these much needed affordable homes. Colne provides quality houses across north Essex and we are committed to ensuring more affordable homes are developed.”
