The longest serving member of staff at one of the region’s leading housing associations was honoured recently for clocking up more than 30 years of continuous service.
Colchester based Colne Housing’s Sally Thirkettle has been with the Society since 1978. She is now a housing manager and has seen many changes in affordable housing during this period.
Sally was presented with a gift by Board members and staff to mark her long service. Sally said: “I love working at Colne and that is why I have chosen to stay so long with such a great organisation. When I first started housing associations were in their infancy and Colne only had a few properties. Since then I have seen the Society grow to more than 2000 homes across Essex. Providing excellent quality homes for people is important to me and I am dedicated to giving the best service we can for tenants.”
Bill Frame, Chairman of Colne Housing, said: “Sally is a shining example of dedication and loyalty. She has given 30 years of truly excellent service and has been a major driving force in the Society. Her contribution has been one of reasons for our continued success.”
Colne Housing is also celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and a series of events will take place to mark the milestone including a regional housing conference in October.
