Colne properties in safe hands with new Housing Officers

Colchester’s Colne Housing Society has appointed two new Housing Officers to take over responsibility for its homes in key locations in Colchester and Clacton.
Clare Bennett is the newly-promoted Colchester Housing Officer with responsibilities for Colne Housing’s properties located in parts of New Town and the Hythe; she deals with responsibilities, ranging from anti-social behaviour to car parking problems and house maintenance issues for Colne Housing’s customers in those areas.
Colchester-born Clare is a former pupil at St Benedict School, with two children, she has previously worked for two years in Colne Housing’s customer services department.
Clare said: “My new position as a Housing Officer is a great thrill for me. I see it as an exciting extension of my work with customer care at Colne Housing where I so much enjoyed dealing directly with our customers.”
Colne’s new Clacton Housing Officer is Karen Embleton, one of two Colne Housing Officers in Clacton, and she also covers parts of Colchester.
Karen, of Tollesbury near Maldon, brings to the Clacton post more than ten years experience as a Housing Officer for local authorities and other housing associations, She has a BSc in housing studies and she is a Certified Practitioner for the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Karen joined Colne Housing in a temporary position in June and is now a full time Housing Officer.
Said Karen :”It’s great to be joining a leading housing association at a time of tremendous growth in the sector and with so much emphasis now being given to social housing and the need for more affordable homes.”
Chief Executive Mark Powell Davies said: “Karen and Clare bring with them to these posts many years of experience of working with people and an enthusiastic commitment to social housing.
“We’re sure they will make valuable members of the expanding Colne team.”
