Getting Involved
Our residents are at the heart of everything that we do. Staying in touch with residents’ views is really important to us, and we try and do this in many different ways.
If you’d like to have your say about how we provide our services, or get involved in how the Society is run, we’d love to hear from you. Here are some of the options available:
- Leaseholders Meetings
- Estate Representatives
- Residents Associations
- Equality & Diversity Forum
- Leaseholders Forum
Leaseholders Meetings
As a leaseholder you have a legal interest in your property and the way we manage it. We meet formally at each development we manage at least twice a year – in June to present the annual accounts and again in November to set the service charge. You will be sent a letter advising you of the time, date and venue of each meeting and we encourage you to attend.
Estate Representatives
Being an Estate Rep is a great way to help improve your local neighbourhood. The role involves being in touch with us regularly, reporting neighbourhood problems like abandoned cars and giving us feedback on how our gardeners and cleaners are performing. As an Estate Representative, you are our link to the day to day issues of our estates and developments. If you want to find out more please phone 01206 244700 or e-mail getinvolved@colnehousing.co.uk.
Residents Associations
A residents association is a group of local residents who hold regular meetings to discuss issues concerning their neighbourhood. Some also organise social and fund raising events.
If you are interested in forming a residents association, please let us know on 01206 244700 or at getinvolved@colnehousing.co.uk. We can provide practical advice and support to help you.
Equality & Diversity Forum
Residents with a particular interest in equality and diversity issues are invited to join our Equality & Diversity Forum. The aim of the Forum is to review and comment upon diversity issues, policies, procedures and publications, complaints relating to discrimination on the basis of inequality, and the Society’s response to government guidance and case law, as well as set targets and develop new initiatives to improve performance in this area. Meetings are held 3 times a year, in November, March and July. For more information contact us on 01206 244700 or e-mail getinvolved@colnehousing.co.uk.
Leaseholders Forum
From time to time leaseholders are invited to participate in the Leaseholders Forum. Representatives from all leasehold schemes are invited to participate, including Shared Owner Leaseholders, leaseholders aged over 55 years, and those living in flats bought under the Right to Buy scheme The forum is used to address issues relevant to all leaseholders, such as service standards. If you are interested in participating, please let us know on 01206 244700 or at getinvolved@colnehousing.co.uk.
