Gateway to Homechoice

Gateway to Homechoice is a choice based lettings scheme which covers Babergh, Braintree, Colchester, Ipswich, Maldon, Mid Suffolk and Suffolk Coastal areas. This is a partnership between the local authorities and local housing associations.

Applicants can 'bid' for suitable properties when they are advertised, giving more choice over where they live. Properties are offered to those on the list of bidders who have the highest housing need.

If you wish to register for social housing in these areas, you need to apply directly to the local authority where you currently live. You can bid for properties outside of your local authority, but still within the Gateway scheme.
