Temporary housing assists people in urgent need of housing, especially families, on a short-term basis.
The Society has a number of properties in Colchester and Tendring that it lets to vulnerable people or homeless families who have been nominated to the Society by their local council.
The Society's temporary housing options range from single person flats to family housing. The accommodation usually includes extra housing support to assist people through difficult circumstances.
Access to this housing is always by nomination from the local council. If you do find yourself homeless please contact your local council.
We are currently looking to expand our provision of temporary accommodation through leases usually with a five year term, with private owned in Colchester, Tendring, Braintree and Maldon. If you are an owner interested in this scheme, please contact leasing@colnehousing.co.uk or telephone 01206 244700.
This scheme is essentially a three-way partnership between the private sector, Colne Housing Society and the local authority. The owners of empty properties provide the homes, the housing association provides the housing management and day-to-day repairs and maintenance and the local authority provides the tenants.
