Some of the issues considered at the December 2009 board meeting were:-
The 2010/11 budget was approved, including a large major repairs programme, improvements to Fiske Court, Clacton and Colne House, Heybridge, and over £15 million on new development.
Generally good. Arrears are reducing. There is a large increase in the number of voids, but void turn round period is reducing.
Positive review of how Iceni has performed over the last twelve months, although there was some concern over defects on specific properties.
A good forward programme is being put together by Iceni.
The current agrement with BPHA, which gives us access to funding for new developments, is to be extended by twelve months to March 2010.
The principle of taking on extra space was agreed.
It was agreed to pay the Society's chairman. This reflects the work he puts in on Colne business (at least one day a week).
A new code of conduct for board members and staff was agreed in principle.
The risks we face that may mean we cannot achieve our ambitions were reviewed. The main new risk is that significant reductions in public expenditure, leading to cuts in housing benefit or money for new homes, whoever gets into power at the general election.
