Colne Community Fund

The Colne Community Fund (CCF) was set up in April 2008 to allocate donated funds to specific projects that help the local community.

Colne uses a proportion of the money it receives from Iceni Homes to support residents and the communities they live in. £27K was put in the budget for 2010/11 for community development projects in the areas that Colne works to apply for a grant of up to £500.

The most recent grants have been awarded to:- 

• Community Street Warden Group - the Colchester based activity group was awarded a grant to continue their successful dance classes
• Baby Cafe in Maldon - the young parent scheme was awarded a grant to continue hire of a hall for group activities for both the parents and the children
• DWS Swimming - a local swimming club for older people and people with disabilities in Colchester, was awarded a grant to purchase new transit / shower chairs

In addition , further opportunities will be explored with other service providers to provide joint funding to address anti-social behaviour issues at various developments.
