Colne Housing Society: More than Bricks and Mortar
As a well-respected charitable housing association in the North Essex area for more than 30 years, Colne Housing Society provides general needs housing for families, couples and individuals. In addition, we offer:
- almost 200 tenancies with support to older people living in sheltered housing of which 16 are "extra-care" for frail or disabled older people who require personal care
- shared housing for over 85 people with learning and physical disabilities, Autism and Aspergers Syndrome
- 8 flats with support for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities
- 4 flats with support for vulnerable young mothers and their children
- safe and secure accommodation for 7 people in the Tendring area who are being supported to independence by NACRO (the crime reduction charity)
- management services to five local almshouse charities housing 35 people and a local sheltered housing association with 40 clients
- supported housing schemes in partnership with SCOPE, MENCAP, NACRO and Acorn Village
It is our aim to provide excellent homes and services to our residents, and to make a positive difference to the neighbourhoods in which we work.
