Sometimes a community needs a building to act as a hub for the kind of activities that bring people together, meet their social needs and provide opportunities to improve lives.

Colne will consider working with local people to bring buildings into community use, but only if there is a lack of suitable alternative space and a commitment from them to take an active role in the development and management of the facility.  

Forest Road Meeting Hall, Colchester

Available from only £10 per hour, it hosts a broad range of regular activities as well as one off hires. ‘Voices for Greenstead’ help promote the hall and are responsible for keeping it clean.

Foundry Court, Manningtree

We are working with Essex County Council, Tendring District Council and local community partners to develop a health and wellbeing centre for Manningtree and the surrounding community. We run a lunch club here for older people three days per week. You can volunteer here.
