Joined the Society as Chief Executive in 1996 with over 20 years experience in the housing sector. Previously 'founding' Development Director of Peddars Way Housing Association, a major LSVT, and prior to that worked in senior housing management, technical and development roles with a number of RSLs and local authorities. Law graduate from Durham University and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Housing.

Joined the Society in December 2002 as Finance Director with over 20 years experience in finance. Responsibilities include finance, human resources administration and IT. Has enjoyed a wide variety of roles in both manufacturing and service industries. Member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants since 1988 and Fellow since 1993.
Martin Buddery

Joined the Society in December 1998. Has worked within the social sector since 1987, in a variety of roles for a London Borough and most recently Colchester Borough Council. Obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Housing Studies from Bristol University in 1992.
Richard Jones

Joined the Society in May 2007 from a large estate agency group, where he was a Senior Manager. Responsible for overseeing the Society’s plans to implement and operate a commercial division, Colne Solutions, to offer the Society’s expertise to other housing associations, developers, businesses and charities. Services include property management, residential lettings, private sector leasing and payroll and financial support services.
Board Members
William Frame MiPD - Chairman
Society Chairman since September 2007. He has been a member of Colne's board since 1996 and Vice Chairman since 2004. He previously worked in Human Resources in a senior role in the energy and water industries. Bill who was previously Leader of Colchester Council and a non Executive Director of North Essex Mental Health Trust has strong connections with affordable housing in the area. He is also currently a board member of Iceni Homes and an Associate Mental Health Manager.
Justina Ridley - Vice Chairman
Became Vice Chairman on 19th September 2007. She has been a member of Colne's board since July 2004 and is a Solicitor for Birkett Long Solicitors in Colchester. Justina is Chair of Operations committee and sits on both Personnel and Audit committees.
Michael Andrews
Joined the Society's board in January 2006. A Company Director, Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, Member of Service Monitoring Group, Mental Health Act Manager and Chair of Governors at Market Field School. Michael has a particular interest in the welfare of people with learning disabilities and mental health problems due to personal circumstances. Mike chairs Audit and sits on Finance & General Purposes committee.
Dee Austin-Evans MNAEA, Dip.RSA (Resident member)
Dee was appointed to the board in March 2008 and lives in one of the Society's properties. She is an accredited surveyor of New Homes Finishing Standard with 26 years experience in residential housing management with the MOD and her own property sales / management company. Dee now works part-time for the National Trust. She currently sits on Operations and Personnel committees.
Ian Clark
Joined the board on 5th October 2005. Ian is now retired, but worked for Dexia Public Finance Bank as Deputy General Manager. He is Chair of Finance & General Purposes committee and sits on Audit committee.
Andrew Crayston
Joined the board on 27th September 2006. Andrew is Senior Partner in Fenn Wright Estate Agents and Surveyors. Andrew sits on Operations committee.
Robert Leng
Has been a member of Colne's board since 1981 and was the Society Chair from September 2002 to September 2007. Robert previously worked in a senior position for the Nationwide Building Society, and is President of the Essex Chambers of Commerce. He is a firm believer in the contribution that independent locally based Housing Associations can make to their communities. Robert sits on Finance & General Purposes and Audit committees.
Carole Watson (Resident member)
Has been a member of Colne's board since 2004 and lives on the Greenstead estate in Colchester. Carole was previously employed as a Personal Assistant, and has also been a shop proprietor, but is now retired. Carole sits on Operations committee.
John White
Joined the board in 2004 as a co-opted member from Tendring District Council and in 2007 was elected as a full board member. John sits on Audit and Operations committees.
Carole Wilkinson
Carol is self employed as a Business Consultant working with companies to develop their businesses and operational processes. Carol is Chair of The Coggeshall Friends of Cancer Research UK and the group organises fund raising events within the local community. Carol sits on Operations and Audit committees.
Councillor Anne Beale
Joined the Society in June 2007 as co-opted member from Maldon District Council. At Maldon, Anne sits on the Finance and Corporate Services committee and South East area committee. Anne sits on Finance & General Purposes Committee for Colne Housing.
Councillor Beverley Oxford
Joined the board in June 2008 as co-opted member from Colchester Borough Council. Beverley is currently the portfolio holder for neighbourhoods at Colchester Borough Council. Beverley sits on Operations committee for Colne Housing.
Councillor Mark Cossens
Joined the board in June 2008 as co-opted member from Tendring District Council. Mark is the cabinet member for Housing. Mark is yet to decide which committee(s) he wishes to sit on and so is currently attending all.
