Meet the Non Executive Team
Tim has been Chair since September 2012. He has long been a champion of affordable housing, and was previously Chair of an arms length management organisation. Amongst his many roles, he is a local councillor, portfolio holder for Community Safety, Licensing and Culture, a non executive director of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and member of the Essex Police and Crime panel. Tim sits on the Appointments and Remuneration Committee and is our Board Champion for governance and public relations.
Carol is a self-employed Business Consultant, applying experience gained as a senior manager within corporate organisations engaged in engineering and manufacturing. She was Chair of Coggeshall Friends of Cancer Research UK, fundraising for the worthwhile cause. Carol is Vice Chair of the Board and sits on the Audit Committee and is our Board Champion for development, ICT and efficiency / value for money.
Alan joined the board in 2014. He comes from a banking and finance background, having worked most recently as Managing Director of JP Morgan Chase and Head of the Institutional Banking Group, Europe, Middle East and Asia. He is now a self-employed consultant, parish councillor and treasurer of a community benefit company. Alan is Chair of the Audit Committee and is our Board Champion for finance and treasury management.
Alison Inman is a prominent member of the affordable housing community. She is a governing board member for the CiH, the professional body for housing.
She is also the Vice Chair of TPAS, the national tenant empowerment organisation, and was previously Chair of Colchester Borough Homes. She is also a magistrate and school governor. Alison sits on the Audit Committee and is our Board Champion for housing management.
Malcolm is the Executive Director of People and Communications for Swan Housing and brings 20 years experience in HR and ten years in the housing sector to the Board. Malcolm also has significant experience in leading business and cultural change by selling ideas, motivating and influencing senior colleagues, board members, staff and trade unions.
Malcolm sits on the Appointments and Remuneration Committee.
Phil joined the Board in 2016. An Associate Director for pod LLP, Phil brings a wealth of expereince in developing and maintaining financial viability and other excel based models, financial modelling, undertaking options appraisals, new business and project management, co-ordinating bids, research and report writing to Colne's Board.
Allen joined the Board in May 2016 and brings over ten years of executive and board member experience to the Board. Allen's experience in mergers and acquisitions, change management and risk management comes at a time where Colne are implementing new strategies and it is envisaged that Allen's knowledge will enable Colne to meet its key objectives.
