Colchester housing association gets ‘green light’ from regulator
4th June 2007
Colchester-based housing association, Colne Housing, has received top marks from Government agency, the Housing Corporation, following a thorough assessment of its services
A “traffic light” rating of red, amber or green is given against each area, with green as the top rating. Colne Housing, which has been providing affordable homes in Colchester for over 30 years, has received the highest accolade by obtaining four green lights across all four categories; Governance, Management, Financial Viability and Development.
Colne Housing’s Chief Executive, Mark Powell Davies, said: “The Housing Corporation’s regulation is robust and we are delighted to have received this excellent assessment, which assures our future as a growing community based housing association in North-Essex. We are committed to providing excellent new affordable homes for those in need, as well as a high quality management service in our neighbourhoods.”
Every housing association across the UK owning or managing more than 250 homes has its performance assessed by the Housing Corporation against the criteria.
